Now you can get incentive on putting waste bottles into reverse vending machines in Pakistan

Probably, you have seen vending machines being used in many developing countries. You must have seen reverse vending machines as well. These are a great origin to keep our planet environmentally - friendly in this industrialized era.  Now you will see this amazing technology all over Pakistan as the government is working for its prompt inauguration.

Pakistan is working seriously for a sustainable as well as a pollution-free environment and has been reaching greater milestones through various initiatives in the recent passing years. One of them is the remarkable billion trees tsunami project inaugurated by PM Imran Khan's party in 2014 before he took his position in government in 2018.  Pakistan is visioned to bring a reverse vending machine system to Pakistan where people will be able to put empty bottles into vending machines and these bottles will be recycled instead of polluting the environment. Recently Prime Minister of Pakistan happened to see a video regarding collecting bottles and their recycling and he found it a remarkable thing and he forwarded this video to his special assistant on climate change, Mr. Malik Amin Aslam to get the lead on its implementation. Recently Mr. Malik has unveiled a first-of-its-kind RVM for plastics at Jinnah Super Market in Islamabad led by the Aquafina brand.

The Ministry of climate change, govt of Pakistan also shared this news via Twitter post:

Vending Machine Vs Reverse Vending Machine (RVM)

Just like vending machines in which you enter credit and get your favorite thing in return, in RVM when you put anything into it to get recycled you get an incentive for doing so. The most amazing thing about reverse vending machine is that when you will put an empty bottle into it, you will be getting a certain amount of incentive in the shape of a voucher, money, or other. Earlier this year, PepsiCo announced the country’s largest plastics collection and recycling project under the Prime Minister’s Clean Green Pakistan program and is aimed to doubling their process within 2021. This program is being implemented by Pepsico partner Green Earth Recycling and its progress is monitored by WWF- Pakistan.

This is an appreciative action by the government that will create a connection between the public and encourage them towards recycling.
