If you want to be healthy then,you must know about a healthy balanced diet.Generally most of people eat food without observing the amount of nutrient which they take.It is most important for us to know that what kind of nutrient we should eat or not!
By a diet mean ,the food we regularly eat.A balanced diet means a diet that contains the proper proportion of all the essential nutritional elements such as :carbohydrates ,fats,proteins,vitamins,minerals and water.All these elements are necessary to maintain health.
If a person's diet consistently deficient in any of these nutrients,his health is spoiled and disease may result.
The body's most basic need for energy .To get energy it needs food as fuel.The body changes the food into energy,which is ver important for human act.Without energy we can not even blink an eye.Energy is also used for growing process ,for rebuilding and repairing damaged cells and for regulating all the systems of the body.If a person takes in more food than required to body's need,the excess food is converted to fat. That causes weight gain .On the other hand eating too little causes weight loss because the fat is used for energy.


Lets see what is the function of a well balanced diet:    

The function of a well balanced diet is to provide all the nutrients essential for the proper growth and functioning of the human body in adequate proportions .So,a balanced diet is also called a healthy diet.maintaining a healthy diet is the practice of making choice about what to eat with intent of improving and maintaining good health.
 Usually this involve consuming necessary nutrients by eating the appropriate amount from all the four groups of food.

1)Milk group: 

It include milk,yogurt,cheese and other milk products.

2)Meat group:

It include meat as chicken,fish ,beef,mutton,meat substitutes as beans,peas and seeds.

3)Fruit and vegetable group:

It include fruits and vegetables.

4)Grain group:

It include bread,cereals,whole grain bread,enriched bread,rice.

A balanced healthy diet leads to good health and mental growth whereas an unbalanced diet can cause problems with:

  • Maintenance of body tissues,growth and development,
  • Brain and nervous system functions,
  • Bones and muscles systems. 

REQUIRED QUANTITY OF FOOD BY A PERSON:

Different nutrients provide calories-specific quantities of different nutrients daily required by man are as follows:

Carbohydrates give    - 4 calories/gm
 Fats give                  -  9 calories/gm
proteins give            -4 calories/ gm

Carbohydrates provide 60-80% of the total calories intake.A minimum of 100 gram of carbohydrates are necessary in the diet.Fats give double the energy than that given by proteins or carbohydrates.Protein is not usually used for energy. However, if the body is not getting enough calories from other nutrients or from the fat stored in the body, protein is used for energy. If more protein is consumed than is needed, the body breaks the protein down and stores its components as fat.

      Having a healthy and balanced diet is one of the most important and valuable things we can do to maintain  our health.
Along with the physical activity ,our diet is key factor that effect our health and weight .Being overweight increase the risk of heart disease,diabetes,high blood pressure,breathing problems,gallbladder diseases,some type of cancer etc.Taking balanced diet saves us from different diseases.So we should take much care of balance and healthy diet. 
So,eat a healthy diet to stay healthy because "Health is wealth".
